I help others find empowerment and mindfully engage in a process of self-discovery and transformation. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, and trauma, and I collaborate with clients to support their journey toward achieving their therapy goals. It is a privilege helping others work through challenges across the lifespan.

Individual Therapy

I work with clients to improve the “What Now” and discover the “What’s Next.” Sometimes understanding your past is the first step toward healing and shifting your direction in the future. Together, we will identify what's working in your life, acknowledge where you're stuck, and uncover the change you're longing for. Our sessions will be authentic, warm, and paced with patience.

I think deeply about systemic stressors within the context of time. I have an appreciation for the ways in which trauma colors our sense of self and relationships with others. Clients have sought me out to work through grief, peer relationships, identity development, and their overall well-being. My previous work also includes talking to those who work in the corporate world and have successful, thriving careers. I have experience across many professions, including artistic and elite athletes who are navigating the pressures of their sport, recovering from injuries, and exploring their identity beyond athletics. As a former performing artist, I get it.

Experience

I have 10 years’ experience in the mental health field and am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. I obtained a PsyD from The George Washington University, completing my internship at Appalachian State University’s Counseling Center and focusing on Sports Psychology. I also earned a MPsy in Psychology during my time at GWU and a MS in Clinical Psychology from Barry University, as well as a BFA in Dance from The Alvin Ailey School/Fordham University.

Clinically, I utilize a psychodynamic orientation and incorporate modern theories. My professional training includes hospitals, substance rehabilitation facilities, private practices, a community mental health clinic, and in-home therapy.

In addition to my therapeutic work, I also conduct assessments with a diverse population of adults, adolescents, and children (ages 8+). I completed postdoctoral fellowships in neuropsychology and trained at Children's National Hospital through their neuropsych division and their LEND fellowship program. You can find more information about assessment and diagnosis with me at Washington Psychology Associates.
